BIO: Música

My name is Eduardo Doreste, I was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1996. I am a multi-instrumentalist, improviser, composer, collaborator  and a project leader, and currently I am based in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Music has always had a central place all my life. Some of the artists who have had a major impact on me are names likes Joni Mitchell, Michael Moore, Gorka Benítez, Ab Baars, Bill Frisell...

I carried out my music studies, first in Madrid (Elementary & Secondary at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música Arturo Soria / 2002-14), after that in Barcelona (Bachelor's at the Conservatori del Liceu / 2014-18) and lastly in Groningen, The Netherlands (Master at the Prince Claus Conservatoire / 2020-22).
I have always worked on my artistic identity and musicianship what have been supported by an extensive academical background and the music opportunities that I have encountered along the years. All that has permitted me covering a broad amount of styles (from Classical music to Jazz & Latin music, from Folk music to free improv), as a side player and a leader, as a performer and a composer.

At the present, I conduct a project based on sonic cues to guide spontaneous music (''NOW, New Organic Way''). This means that the performer is free to bring in any personal insight with the support of certain elements that help spontaneity on the acquirement of a more specific outcome. The project was presented last June during my Master's final performance and it is expanding towards further collaborations in and out of the music world.

On the other hand, I am collaborating with a variety of Healthcare activities in the Netherlands, such as the ones provided by the MiMiC initiative (Music and Dementia) and Embrace Nederlands (Music & Vulnerable People).
